Wall art so inspired you’d hang a naked photo in your kitchen?
I did.
For years, a nude image of my husband and me hung right there in the heart of our home. Not tucked away. Not hidden in a closet. Not saved for “someday.” It lived where we made coffee, hosted friends, and danced barefoot.
I gave very few thoughts to who it would make uncomfortable because it brought me so much joy.
So many women almost whisper when they’re choosing their wall art. They look at me like they’re asking for approval. Like they need someone to nod and say, “It’s okay. You’re allowed.”
Sweet girl…You don’t need permission.
But if it helps, I’ll sign your permission slip first, and then I’ll rip it up…because the truth is, you’re always allowed to take up space in your own home.
I’m audacious. I’m unapologetically myself, and I’d like to encourage you to choose your art not from a place of considering everyone else’s feelings but from a place of honoring your own. And I am a firm believer that the art on your walls should make you feel something electric.
Empowered.
Inspired.
Reminded of who you are on your very best day.
Why is it normal to hang landscapes, abstract shapes, or strangers’ bodies from a design catalog… but radical to hang your own?
Why wouldn’t you want to see yourself in your power every single morning?
It’s walking into your kitchen half-asleep and being greeted by a reminder that you are bold. It’s catching a glimpse of yourself on the way out the door and thinking, “Oh. She’s that girl.”
Not because I said so.
Choose the image that makes your spine straighten.
Choose the one that makes you smile every time.
Choose the one that feels a little daring.
But because when you build a life that reflects who you are, in every corner of your home, something shifts.
And if anyone asks who gave you permission? Tell them you stopped waiting for it.
