Every session has a story, and I love telling them. Let’s get to it!
Sometimes it begins with excitement. Sometimes it begins with curiosity. And sometimes, it begins with a woman quietly saying, I need to do this for me.
That was the heart of this session.
When she first reached out, she shared something so many women carry but rarely say out loud. After two kids, after heartbreak, after being made to question parts of herself that should have only ever been celebrated, she wanted to feel sexy again. Not for anyone else. Not to prove anything.
For herself.
And honestly? IMO…That is one of the most powerful reasons to step in front of the camera.
She came into the experience wanting the full glamour treatment. The studio, the styling, the guidance, the feeling of being cared for from beginning to end. She wanted to feel beautiful, feminine, confident, and reminded of the woman who had always been there underneath the noise of life, motherhood, and everything that had tried to dim her.
Like so many women before their session, she had fears. She worried about not being enough as she is at this moment. And if you’ve ever had that thought before a boudoir session, let me lovingly say this: you are not alone, but you also do not have to wait until you become some imaginary version of yourself to be worthy of being photographed.
Your body right now is worthy of softness.
Your body right now is worthy of art.
Your body right now is worthy of being seen with kindness.
From hair and makeup to wardrobe to posing, Linds and I walked her through every step. That is such a big part of the Fearlessly Feminine experience. You do not have to know what to do with your hands. You do not have to know how to arch or where to look or how to magically become confident the second the camera comes out.
That’s my job, besties.
Your job is to show up. To breathe. To let yourself be guided. To trust that you are in a space where you will be celebrated, never judged.
She chose a mix of romantic, flirty pieces and darker, sexier looks, which created the most beautiful balance of softness and strength. A little lace, a little edge, a little “oh hello, there she is.” The kind of combination that tells a story without saying a word.
There is something sacred about watching a woman see herself differently in real time. Not because we changed her, but because we helped clear away the fear long enough for her to recognize herself again.
By the time we sat down to look through her images, the experience had become exactly what she hoped for. She described feeling like a queen. She talked about how her concerns faded because she felt prepared, supported, and never silly for asking questions. She shared that being hyped up while seeing her photos was exactly what she needed.
And my favorite part?
She said it was one of the best experiences of her life.
Boudoir is not about becoming someone else. It is about coming home to yourself. It is about creating proof that you are beautiful in this chapter, not just the chapters before motherhood, before heartbreak, before life got heavy.
This session was a gift she gave herself, and I do not think there is anything more beautiful than that.
Because sometimes the most powerful thing a woman can say is:
I need to do this for me.
And babe, that is reason enough.
Miss M, thank you, thank you for trusting me with your very FIRST professional photography experience. I LOVED working with you, and I’m so proud of what we created!
