These two! I can’t say enough good things about my relationship with them! I photographed their wedding back 2016 and knew they were my people! Remember when I photographed Kelly’s session on the Salt Flats in Utah? OMG…one of my favorite destination shoots to date. But these couple’s boudoir pictures in Paris are so so dreamy in the very best way! I can’t get enough.
So how do we end up headed to Paris? When Kelly came to pick up her boudoir album from her first destination shoot she mentioned they were headed to Paris the fall and BOOM over a bottle of wine we ended up planning their shoot in Paris. I can’t say enough amazing things about having clients that want me to document their adventures! So thankful for these friends.
If you’re considering joining us in Greece, take a look at what Kelly had to say about their destination session! As a studio we take immense pride in providing a stellar experience and can’t wait to share everything we have planned for these Mykonos sessions!
Q: Why did you choose to book a Destination Fearlessly Feminine session? And what convinced you to say “Yes!” to this experience?
A: So, my husband and I were visiting Alisha to get my album from my first FF session over the holidays. We’d opened a bottle of wine to catch up, now that we live in Utah (where we did my first session — GORGEOUS!) and we were talking about our travel plans for the next year to France and Germany. Alisha and I got to talking and she said how she’d wanted to do a destination boudoir experience for a long time. My husband and I both said if she decided to do one around the time we were going to be in Paris, we were so IN! Sure enough, she made the plans and we immediately signed up to do a couples boudoir experience together 😀
Q: What was your favorite part of your session?
A: I’d say I have two favorite parts : the location & doing this second session with my husband! Traveling abroad has been something I’d always wanted to do but never prioritized. I was always working toward the next thing in my career and didn’t take the time. So when we realized we could document such an amazing experience for us both in a beautiful city, it was a no brainer. Also, getting to do a boudoir session with my husband was amazing. He is my best friend in the world and getting to create and capture intimate moments in the most romantic city on earth was an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait to look back on those images when we are 80 and be like “damn that fire is still going and we looked damn good!”
Q: How did you feel about the shooting location(s)?
A: An apartment overlooking the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France? Yeah… it was a horrible location. I’m totally kidding, it was EPIC! The balcony was dreamy and the morning light was to die for. We had just started our trip, so it was a blast to take the metro and walk around the quiet streets below the Eiffel Tower before our shoot. What. A. DREAM!
Q: How did it feel for you to be photographed in front of the Eiffel tower?
A: Paris truly stole my heart a bit over our trip. I lived in big cities after I graduated college like NYC and Boston and there is an energy of big cities that just makes you feel alive. But Paris also has the history component that makes you feel like every step you take is part of a new chapter in the human story. Photographing overlooking the Eiffel Tower was like experiencing something that was both familiar and new. So many people have been photographed with this structure int he background, but it also felt like that moment was completely ours — and I think that’s the beauty of Paris. It’s everyone’s and just yours.
Q: What was your biggest takeaway from the entire experience?
A: That boudoir is one of my favorite experiences ever, and doing one abroad to commemorate an amazing trip is SO WORTH IT!
Q: What was the highlight of your trip?
A: The highlight of our overall trip truly was experiencing a new place with the man I love. We traveled all over France, including Paris, Cognac, Bordeaux, and Epernay. We also went to Munich, Germany for Oktoberfest. Planning and traveling with your partner is an experience every couple should do, and do often. I’ve been with Will for nearly five years (married a little over two) and I learned even more about him from this trip.
Q: Did you enjoy spending extra time with FF team? Dinner, excursions, etc..
A: Spending time with the FF team was like a mini reunion for me and Will. Alisha was our wedding photographer, Kana did my make up for our wedding, and Jamie was our wedding planner! Getting to have dinner with everyone to catch up and connect was such a highlight of our trip.
Q: What would you tell someone considering a FF Destination Session?
A: We have this one life. And the older I get, the more I realize that time has become my #1 currency, especially when it comes to spending time with the people I love and experiencing all the world has to offer. Capturing the time spent doing things I love with the people I love, to me, seems like the best way for us to be in the moment. When you go to these beautiful places, having these moments to look back on, and reflect on an empowering experience at the same time, is a special thing that doesn’t need to just be experienced once. So, just do it!
Q: Would you do another destination boudoir session? If so, where would you like to go?
A: 1000% YES! I’d love to do some place tropical/ beach next time since we did a city shoot this time around. I can only imagine how beautiful images would be along a beach/waterfront.
Q: What did you do to prepare for your destination boudoir session?
A: Honestly, I didn’t really. I thought a little bit about the kind of outfits I wanted to wear and what things my husband was comfortable with (literally everything, he’s a gem). This being my second time doing boudoir with Alisha made me feel really at ease about just showing up in my body the way it is. She knows how to pose you and make you look and feel you’re best.
Q:How long did you prepare for your travels to Europe?
A: We started planning our trip a year out! We wanted time to save money and thoughtfully plan the experiences we wanted to have.
Q: Where did you shop for your outfits?
A: Ha, I actually just used some pieces that I purchased for the overall trip from Joelle + Co in Newburgh! I like doing boudoir in slightly less than what I would normally wear so it worked out well for me.
