This session was one of my very favorite surprises so far in 2020. As a photographer, you get to be there for big, intimate moments in the lives of the people you photograph, and I never take for granted what a privilege that is. I feel the joy, love and emotions right along with my clients. And when I photographed this sweet babe’s wedding 8 years ago, we totally clicked. So when she decided to come in for a boudoir session, to say I was excited is a vast understatement. My favorite part of many of my clients is the way they turn into friends, and I’m thankful for social media in the way that it’s a fabulous avenue for keeping us all connected!
So enough sap… this girl is a total fox, and I’m downright obsessed with every outfit she brought! And I feel so excited and honored to get to share these images and her story with you!
Be sure to check out her Q&A below, as she shares all about her boudoir experience!
Why did you choose to do a Fearlessly Feminine shoot?
Honestly, why the hell not?! Too many of my years have been spent being insecure and far too hard on myself. Listen, after I had kids I got rid of all of my shorts because I was worried that people might think my thighs were too thick or my skin too pale. Enough of that mindset! I recently turned thirty and have made it my goal to embark on a journey of self-love this year. This was a HUGE stepping stone on that journey and I am so grateful to Alisha.
P.S. Wear the damn shorty shorts!
What was your favorite part of the experience?
Definitely jamming to Beyonce while getting my hair and makeup done. Alisha knows just how to pump you up before the shoot!
Would you do another Fearlessly Feminine shoot?
Duh!
Would you recommend a session like this to anyone else? If so, who?
E.V.E.R.Y.O.N.E… Every woman deserves to embrace her beautiful and brave and empowered and wonderful self.
What products did you decide on? Are you happy with your choice?
I ordered the Classic Collection. The album is obviously gorgeous, but I think the viewfinder is my favorite product!
What image was your favorite?
I honestly could not choose one if you made me! I am in love with every single image for different reasons.
What did you do to prepare for the shoot?
I looked at a lot of boudoir shoots on Pinterest and the Fearlessly Feminine website. I wanted to nail down my style and be semi-familiar with poses.
How did your boudoir session make you feel?
Brave! This was definitely something that pushed me outside of my comfort zone.
