Let me kick this off by apologizing for the delay in this blog! Linds, our beloved studio manager, is back from maternity leave and now we’re back to pumping out the content and I cant wait to share so many new things with all of you! When she’s away all the everyday tasks of the business seem to cloud the space I require to get all the writing done to the level in which I want to share. 

Today, I want to talk about another amazing mama—Maddie. I’ve known this incredible woman for years—basically most of my years (lol)—and watching her step into motherhood has been nothing short of beautiful. It’s something she dreamed of for so long, and it’s clear that being a mom brings her immense joy. And let me tell you, her daughter, Leighton, is just as gorgeous as her mama—full of personality and sweetness. Spending the day with the two of them during this shoot was an absolute joy.

Since this session, Leighton has started walking, chatting, and evolving into a whole new little person. Childhood is such a fleeting experience—one moment they’re tiny and still, the next, they’re off exploring the world. Our earliest memories of ourselves often come from photos and videos, but mamas? We remember it all. Leighton might not remember this shoot, but one day, she’ll look back at these photos and see the love, warmth, and connection she shared with her mom. As a mother and a daughter myself, I know just how precious these moments are—what I wouldn’t give for beautiful photos with my mom when I was this age.

So send me all the girl moms, the bows, the pink, and the pure sweetness! But more than anything, let’s teach our daughters to take up space, to be confident, and to love themselves exactly as they are. And step one? Being a mama who embodies those qualities herself.
