One of the greatest privileges of photographing women is witnessing the moments when they begin to see themselves differently. I live for the “OMG, that’s me!” moment!
When this client first stepped into the studio, she was navigating a season that many women know all too well. She’s a newer mom, moving through a separation, and carrying the weight of caring for everyone around her. Somewhere between motherhood, work, friendships, and responsibilities, she felt like pieces of her identity had slowly faded into the background.
She shared with me that booking this session wasn’t really about the photos.
It was about herself.
It was about creating space to reconnect with the woman who existed beyond the titles she carried every day. The adventurous, feminine, confident version of herself that had been tucked away.
As with many clients, nerves showed up before the session. There was preparation, plenty of water, antioxidants, reading through the prep guide, and yes, a little bit of nerves.
But something beautiful happened once we got started.
One of the things she shared afterward was how comfortable she felt throughout the experience. That ease is always the goal in my studio.
My intention is never just to create beautiful images; it’s to create an environment where women can release the pressure to perform, critique themselves, or worry about how they look. I guide every pose, every expression, every detail so they can simply exist in front of the camera.
And then comes the magic.
Like many women, she expected to find flaws when she saw her images. She worried she might look awkward or uncomfortable.
Instead, she saw art.
She saw strength.
She saw beauty.
She saw herself.
She described feeling brave, empowered, and “kind of badass,” which honestly might be one of my favorite client reviews to date.
In her own words:
“This was just such a lovely experience. I was so nervous, and they made me feel so at ease and took care of everything so that I didn’t have to think about how to pose or what my face was doing. I LOVE my photos. If you’re considering doing this, please do it!!”
Hearing feedback like this is always the most rewarding part of what I do. Because at the heart of Fearlessly Feminine is the experience of being supported, seen, and fully taken care of.
Her session also included a mix of creative elements, including both prism work and our cardigan set.
The prism images brought a dreamy, artistic layer to her gallery, light, reflection, and movement transforming simple moments into something almost ethereal. The cardigan set, on the other hand, felt soft and grounded. Cozy, intimate, and deeply personal, it reflected a more relaxed side of her personality.
When it came time to choose her final collection, she gravitated toward the cardigan images most. She shared that they felt the most “her,” a perfect blend of comfort, femininity, and authenticity. She also chose the digital collection, a decision she was thrilled with.
What I love most about her story is that it wasn’t about becoming someone new.
It was about remembering who she already was.
These sessions are often described as confidence-boosting or transformative and they absolutely can be, but sometimes the shift is quieter than that.
Sometimes it’s simply a reminder.
A reminder that you are still you.
Beyond motherhood.
Beyond relationships.
Beyond responsibilities.
Beyond every role you’ve been asked to fill.
And that version of you is still worthy of being seen, celebrated, and remembered.
Miss C, thanks so much for trusting me with something so intimate. I adore what we created!

Why did you choose to do a Fearlessly Feminine shoot?
I am a new-ish mom, recently going through a separation, and felt like there were so many parts of my identity that had fallen away, replaced by caregiver roles and responsibilities. It was a gift to myself to do something a little indulgent and remind myself that I exist outside of my roles as a healer, mom, friend, and that I can still get in touch with a more sexy, adventurous part of myself.

What was your favorite part of the experience?
Okay, so the experience itself, I loved how comfortable it felt even when I was just straight up naked. I loved that I didn’t have to think about how I looked, but received real-time feedback about exactly where my chin should be, how popped my booty should be. I could just exist without self-consciousness in an environment that could have been really uncomfortable. And then seeing the photos was like magic. I still was convinced I’d look frumpy or awkward, but it just became art in such a stunning way.

How did your boudoir session make you feel?
I felt brave and kind of badass.

Would you do another Fearlessly Feminine shoot?
Heck yeah! I think especially if I get pregnant again, it would be fun to do something on the maternity side to find beauty in all the weird changes and discomfort our bodies go through

Would you recommend a session like this to anyone else? If so, who?
Yes! All the people! Any day.

What did you do to prepare for the shoot?
Panicked, read through all of the things, ate a lot of berries, and drank a lot of water

What image was your favorite?
The one of me straight up, upside down in a position I’m pretty sure my body has never been, and never will be again.
What products did you decide on? Are you happy with your choice?
I loved the cardigan. It felt very in line with my general vibe. Got the digitals and am pumped about that decision, and I haven’t seen the other final products yet, but I am certain they will be lovely!
