I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. There’s nothing I love more than when a babe comes in for a session just for her. And it’s just extra flattering when she’s in her 20s and dedicating her funds to an experience with me!  

 Like most millennials, I’ll always prioritize experiences over things. Because let’s be real- I don’t want to be a 75-year-old woman talking about the cool purse I carried. (Not that I don’t like fancy purses because I do— just given the choice, I’m always buying a plane ticket.) Moral to the story, I think everyone could benefit from a boudoir experience.

 Miss B snatched up one of the boudoir mini sessions I did in November. I was obsessed with the vibe of her entire vision for her shoot. Not only is she absolutely gorgeous, but incredibly talented. She’s an artist, and it showed right through in all her images.

 Hoping this isn’t the only time I find this gem in front of my camera. Because… damn, such a fox! Miss B, it was lovely working with you, you’re a gem!

Why did you choose to do a Fearlessly Feminine shoot?

My whole life, I have viewed my body as something for others to enjoy. Every diet plan followed, every makeup product purchased and every hour spent in the gym was to impress someone else – whether it be my significant other, friends, family or strangers following me on Instagram. Until recently, I never viewed this vessel as a temple in which only I have to live. I never viewed it as my home. Now, I realize this body of mine is all I have. I feed it delicious, healthy foods to keep it energetic, I give it exercise it because it improves my mood, and I slather on all the expensive moisturizers because it makes me feel good. This shoot was all about taking ownership of my body and capturing it in all of its glory, just for me.

What was your favorite part of the experience?

My favorite part of the experience was learning how to pose from Alisha and drawing confidence from her enthusiastic energy. She is an incredible photographer and a certified #bossbabe. And, she absolutely knows it. There is nothing more inspiring than watching a fellow woman do what she does best with such style and grace. Her warm laugh, attention to every little detail and expert knowledge on boudoir made me feel completely at ease!

How did your boudoir session make you feel?

The session made me feel like a goddess. There is something so lovely about lounging au naturale bathed in soft sheets and natural light, sipping red wine while Alisha turns your booty into a photograph you want to slap on a billboard. Since these photos were just for me, I took complete and full advantage of getting every angle and pose I wanted. As a result, I received gorgeous photos to always remind me that this soft little vessel is all mine and I should be proud of it.

Would you do another Fearlessly Feminine shoot?

I would absolutely do another Fearlessly Feminine shoot! Now that the “first-timer” nerves are gone, I have so many ideas on poses, outfits and locations I want to incorporate in my next shoot. I’m thinking beach-side bungalow for shoot number two. 😉

Would you recommend a session like this to anyone else? If so, who?

I would 100% recommend a session like this to anyone. But more specifically, someone who needs to see themselves in a different light. So often, we are hard on ourselves for not liking the image we see in the mirror, worrying about what others will think of it. It’s so important to view ourselves as something to behold and forget about all the comparisons to other bodies our brains want to make. Fearlessly Feminine is all about self-love.

What did you do to prepare for the shoot?

I wanted to feel my best. So, to prepare for the shoot, I attended Pure Barre everyday for a few weeks prior, ate foods that were yummy but also clean and treated my skin to my favorite exfoliators and moisturizers.

What image was your favorite?

I pick a new favorite image everyday. Right now, my favorite is one that was completely Alisha’s idea and a pose I had never seen before. It beautifully depicts me laying on my back on crisp white sheets with my legs angled to the side and my arms tastefully covering my breasts. I was completely taken back when I saw it. I never knew so you could highlight so many curves in just one photo! I look at it every time I’m feeling down on myself and think, “Damn, girl! That’s you!”

What products did you decide on? Are you happy with your choice?

For this shoot, I went the inexpensive route. Almost everything I wore was from Forever 21, save for the vintage Levi jeans! I absolutely love my little pieces. Since lingerie is not something I wear everyday, the inexpensive Forever 21 products are perfect for those occasions when I want to go the extra mile under my clothes, but don’t want to break the bank doing it.
